TiMax TrackerD4

Stagetracking for Audio, Lighting & Media

TiMax TrackerD4 Precision Stagetracking liberates your event production by automating the process of localisation allowing sound, lighting and video designers to focus on the creative, and drastically reducing rehearsal times and costs by eliminating lengthy scene blocking and cue programming.

TiMax Tracker technologies have led the way in live audio spatialisation and media control for over a decade.

TiMax TrackerD4

‍Dependable

Dual-mode UWB RF tracking technology massively reduces errors caused by reflections, body blocking and scenery obstruction.

Dual-mode Angle(AoA) and Time of Arrival (TDoA) analysis.

Multiple sensor viewpoints add redundancy – only two Sensors need to see a Tag for precise and reliable 3D tracking to be achieved.

Practical

Miniature performer tracking Tag worn almost anywhere.

Long Tag battery life up to one year between changes.

Rapid Sensor deployment with straightforward calibration.

Backup and multi-scene Tag management.

Flexible

Supports TiMax SoundHub, Soundscape, L-ISA, SpacemapGo, GrandMA, disguise, and ETC Eos production platforms with interfaces to OSC and PosiStageNet, ArtNet and sACN.

Enhanced ROI potential across audio, lighting and media control.

Unparalleled affordability, entry-level and scalability.

‍Hook Up

Accurate and reliable sensors

The TiMax TrackerD4 ecosystem comprises TTd4 Sensor RF receivers distributed around a space, miniature transmitting TTd4 Tags worn by performers or other mobile subjects, a POE timing hub to power the Sensors and also sync and collect the tracking data, all managed by a portable or rackmount Location Engine Server which outputs OSC or PosiStageNet control data for live spatial audio, media and lighting control.

By not utilising infra-red data which is easily blocked and can be stymied by lighting or daylight conditions, TiMax TrackerD4 is more robust and consistent, and the Tags deployment more convenient for the performers.

The all-new TiMax TrackerSP plug-in bundle for TiMax TrackerD4 offers direct interactive control of production lighting systems, to expand on the existing 3D xyz OSC and PosiStageNet protocols by adding multi-universe networked ArtNet and sACN for live animation and intelligent control of moving-head lighting fixtures.

In addition, TiMax TrackerSP provides a direct portal into the cutting-edge camera control, mixed-media and showcontrol resources offered by our virtual production collaboration partners Stage PrecisionGmbH.

Analysis Tools

Tracking analysis of the D4’s dual-mode UWB signal is distributed between the Sensors and the Location Engine Server, with intelligent error correction and filtering taking place automatically.  The Location Engine app quickly auto-calibrates the Sensors to map the space in 3D after entering a few simple xyz co-ordinates.  Sophisticated built-in analysis tools allow logging and review of QoS to optimise performance, especially vital in increasingly crowded RF environments.

Location Engine live tracking data feeds into a Tracker Translate app which handles Tag management and OSC or PosiStageNet control distribution to one or more peripherals such as TiMax SoundHub.

Tracker Translate includes Primary/Secondary/Tertiary Tag groups for backups or multiple act changeovers, with global or individual Smoothing and Capture tools to precisely optimise tracking stability.

Simple to deploy

Only two TTd4 Sensors need to see a TTd4 Tag for consistent stagetracking to occur to sub-10cm accuracy, so multiple Sensors, typically six or eight, are placed around the performance space to deliver robust redundancy.

Tags and Sensors are all fully weatherproofed, in fact the occasional TTd4 Tag has gone through a complete costume wash and spin cycle and still come out working.

Combined with a clever magnetic on/off switch trick, TiMax TrackerD4 is elegantly simple to deploy and manage in both permanent and temporary installations.
